RECRUITING
With over thirty attorneys and more than forty support
staff, Santoro, Driggs, Walch, Kearney, Holley
& Thompson is one of the largest law firms in Las
Vegas. The Firm is a general practice law firm and has
developed a strong corporate and business clientele. The
Firm, relatively newly established, has brought together
a dynamic group of attorneys from several of Nevada's
older law firms with decades of experience to form a new
way of providing legal service. Although the Firm maintains
a general law practice, its attorneys concentrate in commercial
litigation, corporate law, bankruptcy, trademark and intellectual
property, workers compensation insurance defense, and
private land use law. The Firm also has broad experience
in administrative law, estate planning, probate and tax
law.
The Firm encourages its attorneys to engage in pro bono
and professional activities. Such activities include legal
services to public service organizations in need of assistance.
The Firm is located in the City Centre Building in the
heart of downtown Las Vegas within walking distance of
the United States federal courthouse and the Clark County
Regional Justice Center, which consolidates county and
municipal courts and other major justice system components.
Within seven unique downtown neighborhoods you'll
find a variety of cultural and historical attractions
including museums, galleries, shops, public art, architectural
landmarks and other points of interest.
The Firm is an equal opportunity employer. It is the policy
of the Firm, from recruitment through employment and promotion,
training and work assignments, to provide equal opportunity
at all times without regard to race, color, religion,
sex, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability.
The Firm typically recruits its attorneys through its
summer clerkship program, which usually consists of one
or two law clerks between their second and third years
of law school each summer. The Firm hopes to receive resumes
from interested candidates who have completed their first
year of law school from June through December each year.
Although the Firm hopes to select its law clerks from the
upcoming summer during the preceding autumn, the Firm
on occasion selects additional law clerks after the fall
recruiting season; thus the Firm continues to receive
and review applications from interested law students after
January 1 each year through the beginning of each summer
clerkship program.
The Firm's summer associate program is designed
to acquaint law students with as many areas of legal practice
as possible, as well as provide the opportunity for the
student to work, with each of the Firm's attorneys
as time permits. The goal of the Firm's summer associate
program is to provide each student broad exposure to our
Firm, its practice, and its attorneys, as well as allowing
the Firm ample opportunity to observe each student's work
ability and potential as a future attorney, so that both
the Firm and each student can make an informed decision
regarding what the Firm hopes in each case will be a position
as a permanent associate upon graduation from law school.
Although the Firm looks to its summer associate program
as the principle source of attorney recruitment, the Firm
also accepts applications from lateral transfer attorneys
who have already begun their legal careers, particularly
from those attorneys who have prior work experience in
commercial litigation. The Firm's continually expanding
commercial litigation practice has historically created
a regular need for additional litigators admitted to the
State Bar of Nevada.
The Firm reviews each associate attorney candidate on
individual merit, with the objective being to select those
candidates with the intellectual ability, legal training,
work ethic, and interpersonal skills requisite to being
a shareholder of the Firm. The Firm's sincere hope
and expectation is that each of the Firm's associate
attorneys will develop his or her legal skills to ultimately
become qualified to be a shareholder of the Firm and accept
that position and the responsibilities attendant to it.
The Firm is also keenly aware of the vital role that professional
and capable paralegals and staff play in the Firm's
continued success. As with attorneys, the Firm is always
receiving and reviewing resumes for qualified individuals
who are interested in pursuing a career in the legal community.
The Firm offers its employees an excellent benefits package
as well as competitive salaries. Interested applicants
are encouraged to submit their resumes.
