Attorney Bios: Victoria L. Nelson

Victoria L. Nelson practices primarily in the areas of Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation. Her bankruptcy practice has focused primarily on representation of creditors rights and she is an experienced commercial litigator with broad practice in creditors remedies.

Ms. Nelson was born in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. She was admitted to the Pennsylvania bar in 1990, and to the Nevada and U.S. District of Nevada as well as the U.S. Tax Court in 1994. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in accounting in 1987. She received her J.D. in 1990 from Ohio Northern University. Ms. Nelson has also won numerous awards and recognition including an American Jurisprudence Award in Federal Taxation, Estate Planning and Taxation of Corporations and Shareholders; a National Finalist Moot Court Client Counseling Competition, and Who’s Who Among American Law Students. She is a member of the State Bar of Nevada, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Commercial Law League of America, Southern Nevada Association of Bankruptcy Attorneys, American Bankruptcy Institute, and Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys.

In 2001, the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification informed Ms. Nelson that she had successfully passed the examination for Board Certification in Business Bankruptcy. Currently, there are only 16 attorneys in the State of Nevada who have achieved this status.

A frequent lecturer on bankruptcy and creditor’s rights remedies, Ms. Nelson’s copyrighted materials include Collection of Judgments, Bankruptcy in Nevada, and PACA Claims in Bankruptcy.
